Been eager to get some more practice in or just need that additional dance fix? This is for you! Later in June we will be opening up the studio for some practice and social dancing at the end of the usual night’s classes. This is perfect to test out the moves you have learned and just have great time, without being in the public eye! All are welcome and we’ll have some swinging tunes for both Lindy Hop and Balboa
Wednesday 30th June and 7th July from 8:30pm
$5 to help cover hall costs
Note: this class is in place of the Balboa slot covering weeks 5 and 6, as Balboa is only running for 4 weeks.

Swing Shift, Ruby Lounge on Bond Street – June 4th from 8:30pm
Pip Payne's new band Swingshift will be swingin' the house on Friday June 4th, from 8.30pm on
following the Honky Tonk session from 6 - 8pm. Come down for a great night's music and fab winter fare on offer from Ruby's kitchen. No cover.
Swing Shift
As well as our standard set list repeater we are collecting together a bunch of well known pop songs and turning them into what god meant them to be — swing tunes! So 'shifting' them, hence 'Swing Shift'.
'you spin me right round baby right round — like a record baby round round right round' is a far better swing tune than a pop song...
Youl'e need to be there to discover what other songs have been given the swing shift.
Band:
Pip Payne - gat and voc
Richard Prowse - upright bass
Calum Goldie - drums
Paul Cadis (ex De Ja Blue) - sax

Liberty Big Band, J’ville RSA – June 6th 6-8pm

No charge, swingin' tunes, great big dancefloor, and criminally cheap drinks and food. What else could you possibly want?
~
Aspire Big Band, J’ville RSA – June 26th from 7:30pm
Join the Aspire Big Band for a great night of swingin' tunes, performed with Lindy Hoppers in mind!
Even better.. it's just a gold coin to help raise travel funds to get the band on the road
This should be a fantastic evening and isn't it great to see Big Band culture alive in Wellington. Let's show them our support!
~
