Full Swing is an open community. It's for everyone who wants to dance, learn, listen to good music, and enjoy the company of other people who like doing  those things too. Jazz dance, like jazz music, is about pushing the boundaries, finding new and exciting ways to do things, swinging the beat instead of playing it straight, and taking steps outside your comfort zone to create fantastic things.  

To make this possible for everyone, we have some expectations for members of the Full Swing community.  By attending classes and events run by Full Swing, it is understood that you agree to the following: 

 1. Full Swing is for everyone. Regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender, religion, whether you have a disability, what you look like, or what you wear – you are welcome, this is your place. We do not tolerate harassment of any  kind. If you harass someone in any way, you may be asked to leave an event, or you may be  permanently banned. It is entirely at our discretion. No exceptions. 

 2. Full Swing is safe, inclusive, and rainbow friendly. We will not accept misogynist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or racist language or behaviour.

 3. Full Swing classes and events are not a pickup scene. We like to hang out together, get to know each other and enjoy ourselves, but don’t treat it like a dating app to swipe through one by one.

 4. Don’t offer unsolicited feedback. Please respect that everyone is learning, dancing and doing their thing at their own pace. Channel that passion into your own dancing and everyone wins! 

 5. Respect boundaries. If someone doesn't want to dance, talk or  interact with you, for whatever reason (or no reason!) that's their business. Be gracious and go have your own awesome time. Behaviour that is likely to make others uncomfortable like being indiscriminately touchy, trying to control another person's experience of the event or not taking no for an answer is not fair and not on. 

 6. Generally act like an adult human being. Have conversations, ask people to dance, make friends, have fun! 

If you have any concerns or harassment related complaints please talk to any member of the Full Swing team. Anything brought to us in this regard will be kept strictly confidential, and you have our complete support. Your courage in coming forward will enable us to deal with anything inappropriate quickly, and prevent it from recurring.
